The Little Lions Story

My name is Ron Michaud, and I adore animals. I have had a house full of pets my entire life and decided a number of years ago that I should make my love of animals my career as well. I decided to go to College in Vancouver to become a certified veterinary assistant. After finishing school I began a career in animal care working first at The West End Veterinary Clinic, then The Animal Dermatology Clinic , both in Vancouver, where I lived at the time. I continued to learn more about all levels of animal care, and as time progressed I saw a need that wasn’t being addressed. Although there were many Pet-Sitting Services, there were none who provided Veterinary After-Care in the home. Many clients struggled with medications, bandaging, injections, fluids, and everything that goes along with follow-up care, often putting themselves and their animals through additional stress by returning to the vet’s day after day. I thought there must be a better solution that frees up veterinarian time as well as allows animals to be cared for by professionals in the comfort of their own home. Out of this came Little Lions Pet Care, both a traditional pet-sitting service, as well as an in Home Animal Nursing service that assists with Surgical After-Care, Ongoing Medications, Subcutaneous Fluids, Senior and End of Life Care, as well as Grooming and Clipping services.
After many successful years in Vancouver and the Surrounding Area, we decided it was time to move back to Ontario and start a quieter life, which brought us to the Grey Bruce Area, Port Elgin specifically. As we settled in I once again returned to Animal Care, working initially with The Southampton Pet Hospital and currently, The Grey Bruce Pet Hospital. During the first few years in the area I focused on this work as well as operating Little Lions Pet Care as a smaller enterprise until we settled in more permanently. That time has come, and we are happy and Proud to officially launch Little Lions Pet Care Grey Bruce, offering pet Sitting Services, Dog Walking, In Home Nursing, Grooming and Veterinary After-Care to animals big and small.

With Little Lions Pet Care you can rest easy while away form your pets with the knowledge that your animal family will getting the best care, love and attention possible.
Little Lions is also there for you and your pet in other times of need. If your pet is recovering from surgery or illness, we are able to assist in minor medical support, wound cleaning and bandaging, Subcutaneous Fluids, Medication, oral or injection, and other care. We are also there to support your Senior pet as needed, and specialize in end of life care and support in the home.
Little Lions also provides grooming services, including nail trim, mat removal, cuts and trims, and other grooming services.
We familiar with all types of animals, the easy as well as the difficult, and have a true gift for connecting with them and making them feel safe and secure. We have experience with many medical conditions and treatments, and are fully comfortable providing any additional care needed, from medications and insulin injections to nail trimming and teeth brushing, to just some essential love and play.
